Patriotic Poetry Contest

2017 Patriotic Poetry Contest Information

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. Enable them to see that it is their interest to preserve peace and order, and they will preserve them.  And it requires no very high degree of education to convince them of this.  They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty!   —Thomas Jefferson

POEM’S MUST BE PATRIOTIC IN NATURE!!  (No Political Bashing )

We are appreciative to Smith & Edwards for sponsoring this event.

In a time when it might be easy to look negatively at our country, Bert Smith (CEO Smith & Edwards)  would like this to be an opportunity to look for  the “good in our country and put those virtues in prose”. This is a time to remember that this nation was founded on ‘E Pluribus Unum’ – in the many – emerge one.  Let’s focus on the unity in diversity and celebrate this great nation through true patriotism and poetry!  Have Fun!
