Marty Mickelson

Marty MickelsonMarty O. Mickelson.  Marty grew up on Superview Dairy Farm in Grace, Idaho.  Coexisting with 5 brothers and 4 sisters, Marty’s sense of humor blossomed.   Agricultural-related experiences have always played a major role in his life.  Marty actually met his extraordinary wife, Dianne Woodland, at the Idaho State Fair.  His first poem, “The Hereford Attack”, was developed in 2007 while hauling bulls.  On that day, Marty discovered he could use his unique sense of humor to create poetry based on his personal life experiences.  Marty has judged the National Red and White Holstein Show; he is self-employed, hauling pure bred cattle throughout the United States.  It is during those quiet moments when he comes across his best material.  Marty holds many titles, those most important to him being:  husband, father, favorite uncle, and soon-to-be grandpa. Marty is recognized for his magnanimous personality and ability to amuse others.   Mickelson is a frequent guest on the Zeb Bell Radio Program (, has performed with Baxter Black, and has participated in the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada.    Marty’s Email:
